NYX Cosmetics in Singapore?

my first official, exclusive blog post!

So yesterday I was at the Ngee Ann City Sephora and to my surprise, I saw a NYX lip gloss by the cashier in that thing where they try to make you buy more while you’re waiting in line! (you know what I’m talking about, right?) Curious, I walked further ahead and saw the entire display.

NYX Cosmetics is now officially in Singapore!

Prior to this, you could really only get NYX at John Little (I think) and I had seen it at Guardian before, but it was all distributed by Smoochiezz. Now, you should be able to find NYX at a Sephora near you. I was really surprised because in America you can only find NYX online, at Ulta, at a few Targets, and sometimes at PacSun–I never really thought of it as a high end, Sephora quality brand. Anyway, I took some badly lit pictures of the products and prices and here they are :)

Some of my favorite, the matte lip cremes! They only carried one of the colors that I own though, Antwerp.

The ever so famous Jumbo Eye Pencils, going at only $9 (which I believe is lower than Smoochiezz)

The Mega Shine Lip Glosses, another popular favorite, going at $10

The Powder Blushes, also going at $10

I swatched three colors, (top to bottom) The Jumbo Eye Pencil in Iced Mocha, the Round Lipstick in Tea Rose, and the Matte Lipstick in Pale Pink

Sorry this picture is so badly lit, but this right here is the Jumbo Eye Pencil in Iced Mocha. I have a white one of these in the color Milk (matte), but although it did apply very nicely, Iced Mocha was a little less smooth, probably because of the shimmer.  Iced Mocha is a gorgeous bronzy-taupe color that reminded me of Sidecar from the Naked Palette, and Verve from the Naked 2. MG this would look amazing on you, and I want it too! For $9 and from a reputable and conveniently located supplier, I would get this before they run out and you have to go to Tanjong Pagar Exchange searching for the Smoochiezz stall.

This one is the Round Lipstick in Tea Rose. I have the colors Fig, and Jupiter in my collection, none of which were being sold at Sephora. These are going for a competitive $9 at Sephora, and even though that’s what anyone living here would call really cheap for makeup (especially at Sephora), it’s a good $3 than what they’re being sold for at Smoochiezz. Doesn’t sound like a lot, but you could get 3 lipsticks at Smoochiezz for the price of 2 at Sephora.

These lipsticks apply soooo smoothly, have great color payoff, are long lasting, affordable, and very moisturizing! I strongly suggest you try one!

The Matte Lipsticks, on the other hand, aren’t that great. I don’t own one, but this is a super pretty pastel blue-pink color that really didn’t work with my skin tone, but would look amazing on people with a light skin tone. It went on really uneven though, and was really dry compared to the beautifully creamy Round Lipstick.

Overall, I am super excited that NYX is at Sephora. The selection is still very limited, so you would have to go elsewhere to get a color that you saw on the internet (the Mega Shine Lipgloss in Beige, for example), however it’s obvious that Sephora is very widespread and reliable, so you would be able to go to any of the stores island wide and expect it to be there. Also, some of the prices are lower than those at Smoochiezz, and definitely lower than those at Carmine Avenue! Let me know in a comment if you are excited to see NYX at Sephora!

Kisses, and I hope you’re proud of my first REAL blog post. It’s actually really long and a real solid piece of writing that I feel my English teacher would be proud of (even though I don’t really think he likes me, nor will he probably know my name until April) but still. I’ve been at this for like 45 minutes now so I’m gonna go edit some videos ♥
